ees Europe - VOSS Automotive Presents Innovative Fluid Management Solutions for Battery Energy Storage Systems
From June 23 to 25, 2026, the latest market innovations will be showcased at the electrical energy storage (ees), Europe’s largest and most international trade fair for batteries and battery energy storage systems (BESS), in Munich. As a system provider for fluid management, VOSS Automotive will present solutions for BESS, high-performance charging architectures, and thermal management applications in the energy and automotive industries.
Wipperfürth, May 2026 – As demands for energy efficiency and security of supply continue to rise, innovative storage solutions are coming into sharper focus. Battery energy storage systems (BESS), in particular, place high demands on temperature management and system integration. With many years of engineering experience in thermal management, VOSS Automotive develops scalable system solutions for liquid cooling in both mobile and stationary applications. At the trade fair, the VOSS expert team will present its full range of technologies to an international audience in direct discussions — from solutions for stationary energy storage to battery-electric applications and megawatt-scale use cases.
BESS: Efficient Energy Storage, Securing the Future
A central focus of the trade fair appearance is the battery energy storage systems segment. Here, VOSS Automotive has further optimized its proven line and connection solutions. For use in container-based BESS, the system partner has developed a specially adapted line concept with diameters of up to 60 mm, enabling safe and efficient operation even under demanding conditions. Integrated drain and double flow stop valves reliably prevent coolant leakage, particularly during maintenance work on individual battery modules. This increases operational safety and reduces downtime—both key factors for the economic operation of large-scale energy storage systems.
Thermal Management as a Key Technology for BESS
High-performance thermal management is a fundamental requirement for the safe and efficient operation of battery energy storage systems. As energy density increases and systems grow in size, innovative cooling concepts are becoming increasingly important. VOSS Automotive pursues a holistic approach that focuses not only on temperature control of individual components but also on the optimal management of the entire thermal system within BESS applications.
Immersion cooling is considered an additional option in BESS thermal management. By fully surrounding battery cells with a non-conductive cooling fluid, it enables particularly uniform temperature distribution, enhances performance, and improves operational safety. Inter-cell cooling is also gaining importance in the context of BESS. In this approach, the cooling medium is directed specifically between battery cells to prevent hotspots and extend system lifespan.
VOSS Automotive develops flexible and reliable connection solutions for this purpose, accommodating both radial tolerances from manufacturing and tight installation spaces, thereby ensuring consistently high system tightness. As a result, VOSS thermal management solutions enable the long-term operation of modern battery energy storage systems.
Cooled High-Voltage Charging Harness: A Gamechanger for E-Mobility
In the development of electric and hybrid vehicles, the transmission of large amounts of energy during the charging process is becoming increasingly important. With the liquid-cooled high-voltage charging harness developed by VOSS, Amphenol-Tuchel Electronics, and the GG Group, this vision is becoming reality. The innovative charging solution enables power levels of more than 1 megawatt, allowing charging times of under five minutes. Thanks to integrated cooling directly within the harness, high charging currents can be transmitted safely. At the same time, the solution is lighter, requires less installation space, and offers greater flexibility than comparable products. This represents a significant step toward ultra-fast charging and improved everyday usability of e-mobility.
“The ees Europe is a key platform for us to present our solutions in the context of modern energy systems and to deepen our dialogue with international experts. Our focus is on high-performance thermal management concepts for safe battery energy storage solutions, new generations of electric vehicles, and innovative technologies for high-power charging. Our system approaches make a tangible contribution to the integration of the energy and mobility sectors. Our goal is to translate complex requirements into practical, sustainable overall systems and successfully bring them into series production,” says Petra Urspruch, Key Account Manager at VOSS Automotive.
A special highlight is the technical presentation by Petra Urspruch, Key Account Manager at VOSS Automotive, in Hall C2 at Booth C2.230 on Tuesday, June 23, from 5:30 to 5:40 p.m. She will speak on the topic: “System Expertise in Line and Connection Technology for Modern BESS Applications. “
In addition, visitors can learn about VOSS product innovations in Hall B2 at Booth 580 and experience them in action. To schedule appointments, interested parties can contact voss@schoesslers.com.
