VOSS goes Formula
VOSS goes Formula
Technical expertise, teamwork, and a drive for continuous improvement – these values are not only essential in motorsport but also define our work at VOSS. As a premium manufacturer of line and connection systems, we actively support projects that foster young engineering talent and make future technologies tangible. With this commitment in mind, we supported the Formula Student team Ecurie Aix from RWTH Aachen in the development of their electric race car.

Was ist die Formula Student?
Formula Student is the world’s largest international design competition for engineering students. University teams from around the globe design, build, test, and race their own formula-style race cars. The competition provides a platform for students to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical context.
The Ecurie Aix team from RWTH Aachen competed in the 2023/2024 season in the class for electric and autonomous race vehicles. Each year, a new electric race car is developed and built, which can also be operated autonomously. The vehicle concept, its implementation, and a fictional business model around the car are all evaluated. The jury is made up of representatives from industry and engineering professionals.
The combination of enthusiasm for technology, innovation, and a focus on nurturing future talent convinced us. That’s why we are proud to support the student project centered around the race car “Mona.”
The dedication of the Ecurie Aix team paid off: at Formula Student Netherlands, “Mona” took first place in the “Acceleration” category, which measures how quickly a vehicle can accelerate from a standstill to a specific speed. In the overall ranking of all static disciplines, the team secured 2nd place.
At Formula Student East in Hungary, the team gained valuable insights and strengthened their team spirit, ultimately achieving 6th place.
The goal for the season finale at Formula Student Germany in Hockenheim was clear: to defend the title. The team achieved 3rd place in both the “ZEISS Real-Time Video Processing Award” and the Engineering Design Event (Driverless Cup).
The 2024 event season was a resounding success for the students of RWTH Aachen – and for VOSS, an exciting project that we were delighted to support
