SCR Solutions by VOSS

With the quick connect system 241^N, VOSS is dramatically expanding the possibilities of using connections in AdBlue^®, cooling water and thermal management systems according to SAE J2044. It differs from the original version of the quick connect system 241 not only in the new design for the opening mechanism.

Lines in SCR systems must be heated because frozen AdBlue^® does not work. It is important that not only the line itself but also the connection point is heated. The electrically heated version of the VOSS quick connect system 241 ^N is the best solution for line systems designed for connections according to SAE J2044.

The layout of the SCR systems can result in a wide variety of requirements for laying the AdBlue^® lines. Intersections may be required in the case of long line lengths and depending on the assembly process. In the case of electrically heated lines, it is best to connect the AdBlue® and the electrical lines directly in one step. This is what the VOSS quick connect system 301^EFSP, the "Electric-Fluidic Separation Point” can do.

Based on experience with the VOSS quick connect system 301^EFSP VOSS has developed a second "Electric-Fluidic Separation Point", which ensures the correct assembly process with a new design and a new version of the electrical connections. All other properties are the same for both versions.

Based on the quick connect system 301^EFSP2 VOSS has developed the "Electric-Fluidic Separation Manifold", which works with the same design features not only as an intersection, but also as a manifold in double injection systems. Of course, 301 ^EFSM also has the known outstanding properties of VOSS's electrically heated systems.

AdBlue^® in fluid form is a prerequisite for the function of the SCR catalytic converter and therefore for the reduction of nitrogen oxides from the exhaust gas of diesel vehicles. Because AdBlue ^® freezes below -11 °C, the line in which it is carried in the vehicle must be heated. The electrical heating of this line is the proven solution, especially in passenger car applications. VOSS has been a pioneer of this technology since its inception and offers the market standard for best heating performance with its solutions.

In order to meet the most stringent exhaust emission standards, it may be necessary for AdBlue ^® to be injected into the exhaust gas system at various points. For electrically heated lines, VOSS offers T-manifolds as a standard solution for branching the AdBlue ^® line. For more flexibility in system layout and assembly, VOSS has developed the quick connect system 301^EFSM, which combines the function of splitting the AdBlue ^® into two lines and functioning as an intersection, including the electrical connection. For the cooling water heating of double-injection SCR systems, VOSS develops individually tailored ready-to-install solutions.

If the engine cooling circuit is used to heat the SCR system, the coolant lines must be permanently fixed leak-tight to the AdBlue ^® line and quick connections so that frozen AdBlue ^® defrosts quickly and safely. This is guaranteed process-safe by the VOSS line systems.

AdBlue ^® freezes below -11 °C. If SCR systems are used in regions in which such low temperatures are to be expected, the lines must be able to be heated to thaw the fluid. Where freezing is not of concern, unheated SCR lines can be used.
